Appearances |
Cactus McCoy is the main character and the protagonist of the games Cactus McCoy and The Curse of Thorns and Cactus McCoy 2: The Ruins of Calavera.
Appearance
McCoy wears a black hat with a brown stripe on it, a yellow shirt, a brown jacket, and pants. He also wears a red necktie and cape. He has brown eyes and hair. He also has green skin and a prickly body.
Personality
Cactus McCoy was a treasure hunter before he was turned into a cactus. He was a brave man, apparently, as he accepted the job his boss, Hex Hatfield, gives him. It can be said he is very adaptable, as he can use any sort of object as a weapon, even if the purpose of the object is not to be a weapon at all. He even has examples of using animals as weapons! (examples: the Crocodile and the Rattlesnake weapons). It can also be said that he is persistent, as despite becoming a walking cactus and getting shocked, McCoy overcomes his surprise and goes to his adventure to put the Thorned Emerald back to its place.
Official Flipdeck Info
- Hometown: Sunset Gulch
- Loves: Treasure
- Hates: Spiders
- Occupation: Treasure Hunter
For many years Cactus McCoy was a treasure hunter for hire. His biggest client was Hex Hatfield, for whom McCoy collected numerous treasures. This all changed when McCoy fell victim to the Curse of Thorns which turned him into a walking, gunslinging cactus. Thorns aside, Cactus McCoy still can’t shake his wealth-hunting ways, and is always on the lookout for hidden treasure.
Trivia
- In fact, McCoy's real first name is unknown. "Cactus" is what Hex Hatfield calls him after he becomes a cactus.
- The word "coy" in his surname, McCoy, means "shy".
- Although he's the main character, he doesn't have any lines at all, which is similar to Crash from the Crash Bandicoot series. All of the other characters that have appeared in the games, however, had at least one line.
- McCoy is Tony's favorite non-gameria character.[1]
